13MWACHRONICLES22:Taking One’s Word for It- or FAITH & TRUST

I’m gonna try to be brief with this one. The past “chronicle” entries have been rather lengthy because I felt passionate about what I was saying. I still am passionate about the following. However, I think for the sake of true effectiveness, brevity may be better.

Today I was driving down an expressway I normally don’t drive nor do I like to venture alone in bad weather. So three strikes against me: 1) unfamiliar territory, 2) being alone, 3) and horrible rainy (almost zero visibility on way home) weather.

Now, usually my chronicle entries are spiritual/religious in theme. This is no exception. Funny what you think of while you’re driving by yourself hoping you don’t get sideswiped, get your brakes flooded, or miss your exit. And indeed, I admit it, I caught myself doing the sign of the cross at different milestones I thought might be threatening.

I looked at the printed directions which were straight forward enough, yet one never can guess how something unexpected down the line can affect your plans. I then took an analogy of faith & trust in the context of reading the Word & trusting in God’s promises. Those printed driving directions were given to me by someone I trusted. She would not misdirect me on purpose, unless well, who wants to think about the negative.

So, in the same way, the Word are much like “driving directions”. One just has to trust in it that they were given to us by a friend,  a great friend indeed, who is God.

That’s it…I’m finished. That’s all i have to say. Shocking I know hehe. I know, I take everything to an extreme…God this, God that, right? But how much do we take for granted the small steps we make to get from point A to point B?

Is it not impossible to think that God IS in the details after all?
